When it comes to eyewear, the small details really matter over time. forums, blogs and communities create a kind of collective memory for shoppers. if a deal looks too good to be true, it usually has some kind of catch. many people do not mind waiting if they understand what is going on.
if anyone is interested in real user experiences, i sometimes write short notes about the shops i test.

i also started paying attention to how websites display sizing charts for clothing. everyone has different expectations, but real photos and detailed comments are useful for everyone. footwear is even harder because different brands cut shoes very differently. when a store shows clear shoulder width, bust, waist and length, it is much easier to choose. i am still learning and testing different brands and styles over time. for coats and blazers i usually go one size up if i want to layer sweaters under them.
maybe this is useful for someone.
